We got two weeks of warm, warmer, and downright hot and humid weather in the middle of May, followed up by very cold, rainy, windy, nasty weather for the past four days. I think it's going to warm up again tomorrow. Probably it will go directly from the low forties to the 80s or 90s with humidity to die from.
We do have bizarre weather and with climate changing, it's getting worse. Also, getting more sudden. One day it's hot and humid, the next day cool and dry, the day after, nearly freezing with wind and rain. Every once in a while, the forecasts are correct.
QUESTIONS:
What activity instantly calms you?
Sleep. I am usually very calm while sleeping. Except the other day, I had one of those nightmare from which I work up screaming. I was so loud that Owen came upstairs to see if I was alright, the Duke started barking -- and OMG! Garry woke up. It was a repetitive dream about flying monsters. These looked like squids with fangs. Sometimes they look like big spiders with fangs.
These were wrapping themselves around my head. I've been having these dreams for a long time. Decades. I haven't had one in a long time so I must be feeling stressed out.
But usually, I'm quiet when I sleep. Usually.
What's the most spontaneous thing you've done lately?
Other than making sweet and pungent shrimp for dinner? There's not much spontaneity pinging around here in recent months. Just saying.
If people receive a purple heart for bravery, what would other color hearts represent? (Example yellow heart = cowardice)
Brown for when you're so scared you shit yourself?
What is the bravest thing you've ever done or witnessed someone else do?
When I was 12, I told my father he could not frighten me anymore. He hit me. I let him. He screamed at me. I told him that fear was not respect and he could be as brutal as he wanted, but I would never respect him because he was not worthy of respect.
This is not bravery. It's thrill-seeking.
It was also the last time he hit me. I have a rule. You hit me, I'm gone. I put up with my father. I never put up with it again.
How do you show gratitude to the people you respect?
I try to be respectful to everyone. I do not necessarily succeed. Rude people make me angry and I'm not at my best when I'm mad. I try to always include please and thank you and I apologize if I know I've been wrong.
I try to make it right when I can. I do this for everyone if I possibly can. It's getting harder every day to be respectful since so many people seem to have no manners at all.
