The Changing Seasons: June 2021

It was time for a new host for The Changing Seasons, especially now with North America sizzling under two heat domes, one in the west and another in the east. I just backed up June's photographs today. In total, that was just under 2,000 pictures. I have to take fewer pictures. They are also getting backlogged, with thousands of photographs I've never even looked at properly much less processed.

This was the month that started with a horrendous heat wave and ended with another heat wave. Whenever I've looked at North American weather maps, the amount of bright red on the map (indicating excessively high temperatures) makes the map look like it's going to start to literally burn up.

The heat is most important weather event -- and it's also what I can't show you. That we still have half a government claiming climate change isn't real is astounding and appalling. This year is going to be the hottest year ever and next year will probably be hotter.

It's frightening to see it, feel it, and wonder how we will keep our world.
