Translation: Have you eaten?

Consistency is a process.

And creative consistency is a cruel task master.

Accra is my peaceful place. Every time I'm hear my creative self explodes. It is vibrant, chaotic and flavourful. My palette and my mind are always enthused when I've had a dry spell.

Totko has suffered at the hands of both. I can't promise this new journey will be different but I can say that when I'm inspired the content will be beautiful.

Taste One to Know One began as an outlet. A place to document my journeys through food and now I'd like to share those of others also.

A good meal is a game changer. I cannot count the number of times my hungry-anger ('hanger') has turned to joy with a snack or a meal. I've also watched it around me.

Food is central to almost every gathering in Ghana. In every home, a visit must begin with 'will you eat?' Or 'what will you take?'.

'You're invited.' is a mantra whenever anyone has food in front of them. And I think it is beautiful.

So today and for the next few days of my trip:

You are invited

… to share meals and joy and extracts of my journey

Akwaaba. Bedidi.

Translation: Welcome. Come and eat

This is Dre & Kofi, they kindly let me take a picture of them enjoying an Inverroche Gin & Tonic at Jamestown Coffee.

The whole place is a vibe. Their Kaneshie Coffee (more commonly known as Vietnamese 'cà phê đá') is delightful as well as their cocktails, the lobster pasta is a creamy dream & the full English 'Breakfast in a Pan' is perfection.
