This is a fabulous summer cake that I'll be making for the 4th of July. Fold in strawberries or raspberries, you choose! It's my favorite yellow cake recipe cut in half; tender, flavorful, and unfussy. It's my go-to when berries are in season, and something light (or, at least, something without piles of frosting) seems most rewarding.
