Touring My Backyard: THE CHANGING SEASONS

After a decade of drought, July set new records -- at least in Worcester County -- for rainfall. Depending on where you lived, we had anywhere from 12 to 14 inches of rain -- and that's just in July. June was also a big month for rain, but July really outdid every other month by raining every day for three weeks. It didn't rain hard every day, but it rained at least a bit. Lots of thunder, too.

With the Delta variant of COVID gathering momentum, we've stayed home mostly. We probably would have stayed home anyway since it was raining so much of the time, but we were not feeling inspired to go to parties or other groups gatherings. Not that we are big group gatherers in the best of times.

Squares took up a lot of photo space -- and the subject was trees!

So far, all two days of August have been lovely. Let's hope it stays lovely all the way through the autumn. It doesn't mean NO rain -- just not every day, please!
