Often times I get questions about alternatives to American Buttercream. Some don't like the sweetness that comes along with all the powdered sugar you'd traditionally see in this type of buttercream.
I understand that Swiss Meringue Buttercream may seem daunting- tempering the eggs to the proper temperature. Who wants to mess around with that?
I used to feel the same way!
However, it's truly one of the creamiest, silkiest and beautiful frostings to work with. It's also far less sweet than American buttercream. I always think of this as a very fancy frosting!
