Hey reader --
I hope you had a nice long weekend, whether you made a big Thanksgiving dinner or skipped the turkey and made your favorite meal instead.
I actually (together with my mom) made my first turkey, and it was truly so so good. I was so proud. But you guys MY OVEN BROKE! Right when we were broiling the sides dishes, the control panel got too hot and the oven died. This has happened before, luckily we know now it was just a fuse, but at this point, it's going to be another week before my oven is fixed. WHYYYYYYYYYY?!
Luckily I've had my Christmas content planned out for a couple of months, so there will be plenty of recipes coming your way still.
Now it's onto December! On a whim, I decided today that I was going to do Elf on The Shelf. Now my toddler won't understand at all, but I love the idea of the elf popping in with fun surprises throughout the month. He also loves to hid and find things right now. I do not plan to go all-in moving that dang elf every night and pretending elf is "watching". But I hope this will be a fun tradition for us for years to come. Now I gotta get the elf, and does the elf need a name?
Anyhow, let's move on to the desserts.

This is the recipe I grew up. I share all my tips for making the best cut-out cookies. They're soft and not too sweet, which means plenty of room for that frosting.
Take care and stay healthy!
