Here comes 2022!

After all the excitement that preceded 2021, you would be forgiven for feeling a bit jaded when I encourage you to get all excited for 2022. However, as an eternal optimist (most of the time) I'm excitedly hoping and planning for the best. My family and I have even booked (fully flexible) flights to Canada in October 2022!

Dreaming and Planning

As I write this I am midway through some of the fun things I do every New Year to help me gain a bit of focus and get excited for the days to come. That said, there often seems to be an expectation that we should be ready to toast the New Year with carefully organised lists intact and a clear vision of where we are headed. However, a year is a long time, and it is totally okay to take a while to get your thoughts, dreams and goals together.

January 1st is, after all, a completely arbitrary date. There is no astronomical reason to celebrate the New Year on this date. You can make a fresh start whenever you like - but it's nice to feel a sense of anticipation around this corporate celebration of a new beginning.

New Year Celebration Inspiration

How are you celebrating the New Year? With all that is going on, I think many of us are opting for a cosy night in. My family and I are celebrating at home, with a bit of seafood, a delicious dip, and a champagne cocktail at midnight.
