There were a few of them trying urgently to get into the wood feeder. They finally flew over, grabbed a seed, and flew away. They hung around so long that I finally finished prepping the Bolognese sauce, I picked up my camera. And -- you guessed it -- they flew away. One came back and I took some pictures.

Such a fierce face, but not a fierce bird

This one wasn't as sparkly as the last ones I photographed, but I think it was because it was a gray day without sunshine. I think Starlings only glitter when the sun shines. Still, a really pretty bird.
