A New Years Keto Bet and Comfort Food RecipesWant to bet me you can do keto for a month? I'm all about comfort, even in the diet-centric month that is January. Here's how to eat well and still enjoy your meals.Happy New Year! Sounds promising, right? I like to kick off the new year with a winter hike and fresh jump on keto, but this year I also set up a DietBet (join me here) that starts Tuesday Jan 4 (that’s this Tuesday). The premise is this, you bet $50 that you can lose 4% of your starting weight in 30 days, and everyone who loses the 4% gets to split the pot at the end. Using the DietBet app, you’ll take photos of your feet on the scale on weigh-in days. I’ve done DietBets before and it seems pretty difficult to cheat, if possible at all. I don’t make any money on this, I just thought it would be a fun motivator, and everything is more fun with friends! Join the Diet Bet today to get in on it with me! This week's recipes below are all about comfort. I live in New England, and it’s been pretty wet and cold this winter, so that calls for comfort food. For me, that's buffalo wings, chicken dinners, pizza, and a few other recipes below. This year I also kicked gluten, which is something I tried to accommodate in recipes before (example: using tamari or coconut aminos instead of soy sauce) but I’m even more conscious now. I also purchased an Ergatta water rower which I’m pretty pumped to start using (LMK if you need a referral code for free stuff to go with yours I have a link). All fun stuff, lots of body hacking lately. Keto on, and don’t forget to sign up today for my keto Diet Bet! Basic B Keto Breaded Chicken DinnerSo you’re taking it easy on dinner tonight. No judgments here. I even threw in some store-bought pre-made stuff to make this keto dinner faster! More Recipes for Keto Comfort Food:What’s a Wicked Good Member? Here’s the thing, being a published cookbook author is a grind. Most publishers want to pay you a per recipe rate that’s equal to or less than the cost of ingredients required to make the food itself, and as soon as you’re due for a good royalty check, they stop promoting your book so you never meet the threshold. So, I decided to start publishing my own cookbooks and working directly with you all to make recipes you’re looking for. Sure it’s cool to see my stuff on the shelves at Barnes & Noble, but I think this new membership is a lot cooler. What you get: No Promos: As a VIP member, you won’t get promo emails. Woo! You might see some text ads in my email newsletter like this one because it goes to everyone, but that’s it. Special Requests: As you know, my vibe is more whole-food-focused, and lately I’ve been trying to get creative with egg and dairy-free, so nothing is off the table. When you become a Wicked Good VIP Member, you can request recipes at any time, and I will do my best to create them for you, and likely use them in a future cookbook. Cookbooks: The biggest benefit is, of course, access to the cookbooks I have published up until this point, and in the future, as long as you’re a member. I am releasing new cookbooks quarterly. Currently, there are 5 cookbooks available to you as a VIP member, and you get a new cookbook every quarter (plus discounts on the print editions when they release).
Cookbooks coming up are:
Other perks:
Remember, you get instant access to all the cookbooks above right away through Substack (check your confirmation email after you subscribe.) The recipes I’ve been producing for these cookbooks are my favorites of all time, and I also come to the table with the perspective of being a full-time working mom, so I totally get the time crunch that we all find ourselves in, and I work to make recipes that can work for everyone to follow a keto lifestyle in the most delicious way possible. I’d love for you to join my inner circle and become a Wicked Good VIP Member so I can spend more time in the kitchen cooking for you, and less time writing these promotions. I work with a lovely book designer who makes all my stuff pretty, so your membership fees basically go right to her :) I love you, thank you for being here!
