| Hi there, I hope you're having a great weekend. Next week is Chinese Lunar New Year, so I'm sending this email a bit earlier than usual, to share some celebration menu ideas with you. Before jumping into recipes, I have another exciting giveaway to announce! I'm partnering with The Mala Market to give away three sets of their spice mix, including a Chinese BBQ spice mix, Sichuan Peppercorns in a grinder, and Sichuan Dipping Chilies. The Mala Market is America's source for premium and hard-to-find Sichuan ingredients, a curated selection of Chinese pantry essentials, and instructional Chinese pantry collections. Their ingredients are directly sourced from Sichuan. Their chili peppers and Sichuan peppercorns are some of the finest I have found anywhere. These spice mixes are super fun and easy to use and I think you'll like them too. Enter the giveaway HERE! This week, I want to share a recipe that is perfect for your Chinese New Year celebration. Ma La Xiang Guo, or Mala Dry Pot, is a very popular dish in China. The dish features a medley of vegetables, tofu, meat, and seafood stir fried in a very rich and savory spicy sauce. It is often served in a giant bowl and shared family style over steamed rice. My recipe includes a formula so you can recreate this dish using whatever ingredients you have on hand, and get a restaurant-quality result. Happy cooking and Happy Chinese New Year! Maggie |
