Come to the conclusion you are beyond help & its just all your fault?? (Jade's Story)

I will let you in on a little secret we, some insider knowledge about the folk I work with.

Most of them eat a pretty decent whole food-ish diets. They are aware that eating vegetables is a good thing and sugar is not ideal in vast amounts.

They have tried various diets or protocols - slimming world, gluten-free, whole 30, paleo. keto, vegan - some with success, some not. But the recurring thing is that any small results they see - DO NOT LAST.

It is either too restrictive, too time-consuming or their mindset gets in the way ...or they are just too hungry!

So what's the difference - why do client see results with me when they have tried lots of things or worked with other practitioners before?

Well, I want to tell you about Jade.

She was in her 40th decade of life, she had older kids, a job she sort of enjoyed, was a long-term vegetarian/pescatarian (talking 25+ years) and she went for daily walks, was awesome at making her own fermented foods - she put kefir in her daily oats and ate a lot of plant-based food. She didn't eat chocolate and wine due to her migraines. And overall had a pretty healthy-ish lifestyle and lived in a beautiful part of the world.

BUT

She was totally confused, struggling, had gained lots of weight, been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism (which is where you would traditionally lose weight - she instead gained lots much to her annoyance), was perimenopausal, had regular awful migraines, heartburn, bloating and brain fog.

Her goal was to shift some body fat and support her body and hormones for this next season of life but also not 'count' avocado as syns or follow a diet anymore. She wanted to shift her body composition yes - but not at the expense of her health.

She had tried slimming world several times before in the past and restarted the plan a few months before working with me and a few pounds shifted but nothing major or exciting. She tried to up her exercise but had some old injuries that meant walking was really the only option she felt comfortable doing. She had started eating more salads, tried smoothies, and tried eating less.

But no shift.

Was this just inevitable? Did she just need to live the next few decades with extra belly fat and buy a new wardrobe (and lets be clear she totally could have done and it would NOT be a 'bad thing' at all. It's her body. But she WANTED to shift things - she didnt have to but she wanted too and that's allowed).

Surely that was just the menopause right? The migraines, heartburn, brain fog - just part of life?

She tried different supplements but was a bit skeptical and confused by the whole thing tbh and she knew her thyroid might be playing a role but overall her thyroid function had improved due to medication.

She was stumped. She had ticked all the boxes:

exercise

eating less

counting syns

limiting fat

self-care

online program and a more wholefood approach

fermented food to help her bloating

improved thyroid function

raw apple cider vinegar for her heartburn

And yet there she was feeling sluggish, frumpy, fat, and often in pain, stuck in a dark room for her migraines.

So what did we do? WE FIGURED IT OUT!

To put it simply we ran some tests and discovered we needed to do some detox work, that she had a bit of histamine intolerance, suspected estrogen dominance, gut infection, and poor insulin management. (AKA she was more of a carb-etarian than vegetarian!)

We figured out what foods worked for her, balanced her blood sugar, calmed down the histamine, ramped up for protein (which her body really craved!) and the pounds started to shed. Or in her own words:


I had gained weight and couldn't lose it and I had had problems with my thyroid and my hormones were beginning to be an issue as well. I also had terrible migraines, brain fog and heartburn most days.

The biggest thing is that I lost over a stone in weight, which is amazing and I feel really good about that. dropped I have also noticed that I don't have the brain fog that I used to have so that's definitely good, this was something that I don't even think we were working on as such, but it was linked to my migraines and once we tackled those the brain fog seemed to lessen too. I have noticed an improvement in my heartburn and bloating and wind which is all really good as well,

My only hesitation was the money, and it was hard to justify it in some ways but I just went for it as I had wanted to work with Kezia for quite a while. And I have really enjoyed watching the scales go down to a level that I feel is better for me and I am hoping for more weight loss over the coming months.
