Does Keto Have To Be Gluten Free???

Is keto gluten free?

This is a common question and a confusing one for most newcomers. We answer it in detail in our latest post.

The most basic answer is NO, keto does not have to be gluten free.

I think of keto as any diet that puts your body into a state of ketosis. There are many low carb foods that contain gluten.... soy sauce, store bought dressings, keto friendly breads, etc.

99% of the recipes on our website are gluten free however. Like these keto pumpkin pancakes.

I would think of keto and gluten free as two separate dietary decisions.

You can do a keto diet without being gluten free, and you can do a gluten free diet without being keto.

My personal preference is to mainly focus on eating a nutrient dense keto diet. This happens to also be a gluten free diet 99.9% of the time, with the rare exception of trying a packaged keto baked good or something that contains gluten.
