SRH weekly favs // how to quit people pleasing (for good), a checklist to get your energy back, a micro-spa moment & the GOAT of mom jean shorts

If I had a cup of matcha for every time I said yes to something (or someone) in the past, when I really wanted to say no… ooph, I'd be swimming in a green pool.

It's a hard thing for people pleasers (both active and recovering) everywhere. Right?

Take it from someone who overcommitted and took on way too much for way too long— and learned that hard way that doing so is usually a one-way ticket into overwhelm-ville.

It forces you to live in REACTIVE mode vs PROACTIVE mode in your life.

But, we give it away, when we say yes to anything and everything that pops up in our path.

We give our time and energy out to all the other things.....and then take whatever scraps are left and try to cobble them together and "take care of ourselves"....when we're already burned out and have nothing to give.

But here's something I've learned (the loooong way, ha). But it's something that's changed my life:

Saying yes to things is actually your choice.

Today on the blog, I'm sharing 5 intentional steps to take to help you (finally) say no when you want to

Read the post here to learn how to quit people pleasing for good >>>

And a few more lovely things below, too…

1.

Since we're talking about saying no
I put together a checklist of 18 things you can/should/need to remove from your list of responsibilities. Because they're stealing your energy and vibrance, and you deserve more than that. If you've been feeling burnt out, overwhelmed or out of capacity, start with this list and let a few things go. Trust me, it's the most healing thing you can do for yourself in this season.

2.

Micro-spa moment anyone?
I live for an efficient spa moment…. meaning, it's not a half day IN an actual spa. It's usually just 15 minutes in my bathroom, at night after the babies are in bed and I have some quiet time to myself. This little bath salts & face mask ritual gives me LIFE, in a really small pocket of time. I like to read or listen to a podcast while I soak, but do whatever brings you the most calm. Honestly, I think if we all took more baths, the world would be a kinder place. (Save 10% on these products using code 'simplyrealhealth' at checkout.)

3.
*Theeee* mom shorts of my dreams.
I'm having a hard time finding cute spring clothes (that don't look like they're STRAIGHT out of the '90s)... anyone else? But I do have a long-term love affair with these jean shorts— and yes, I have them in multiple washes. High rise? Check. Perfect length, perfect level of distressed hems and fit like a dream? Check. So comfy?? CHECK! You need these this spring/summer!

Hey, just want you to know I'm thinking of you so much. I hope you're finding some margin, some space for unproductivity, and taking some time for YOU. I hope you feel appreciated and so loved. Wishing you a happy, restful weekend from over here.

xo,
Sarah
