We're headed home from Wisconsin this morning and starting to plan our 4th of July festivities. This annual neighborhood gathering begain decades ago when some of the dads would buy fireworks and shoot them off in our front yard after dusk. It's morphed into a pitch in dinner, and as the kids grew up, we ditched the fireworks.
There are two dishes that are always on the menu or else there would be a revolt, my Sour Cream Corn Dip and Frozen Grasshopper Pie (see below). Then I'll made a second dessert since the picky hubby is not fond of mint. We usually grill burgers or brats to make it easy, but I'm also sharing a link to some of the grilling recipes that are frequent flyers at our house in the summer.
Here are some delicious recipes for your upcoming holiday gatherings:
Sour Cream Corn Dip - A friend shared this recipe with us 15+ years ago. My spice averse hubby doesn't even complain about the bit of heat from the minced jalapenos!
Frozen Grasshopper Pie - My mom's recipe from the 1970s!!
