Ask the Senate to Protect Children with Food Allergies The Protecting Children with Food Allergies Act would require training for school food staff to prevent, identify, and respond to food-related allergic reactions. AAFA is proud to have worked with Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) as they drafted this important bill. We now need your help to make this bill a law. Use the widget on our blog to contact your senator. The Asthma and Oral Health Connection Many asthma control inhalers have medicines called corticosteroids ("steroids"). When the medicine stays in your mouth, it may cause problems with your teeth, gums, tongue, and cheeks. It's important to rinse and spit after using a steroid inhaler to prevent dry mouth, thrush, and cavities. Learn more asthma medicine tips. Families Managing Asthma in Four U.S. Cities Receive Products to Help Make Their Homes Healthier To support AAFA's HEAL Innovation program, Pegasus Home Fashions, Rabbit Air, and Renegade Brands have generously donated their CERTIFIED asthma & allergy friendly® products. The overall goal of AAFA's HEAL Innovation program is to reduce asthma deaths and illness among high-risk populations. TEZSPIRE® Approved for Self-Administration in the U.S. with a New Pre-Filled Pen The FDA has recently approved TEZSPIRE® pre-filled pen in the U.S. for self-administration. TEZSPIRE is the only biologic approved for severe asthma with no phenotype (eosinophilic or allergic) or biomarker limitation within its approved label. Read more about this latest treatment for severe asthma.
