My Birthday Weekend! I somehow turn 40 this weekend. There are many wild things about this for me, but one of them is definitely the fact that I've ran this little food site for about 1/3 of my life. That's pretty crazy to think about. Also, I think in the world of the Internet I'm officially VERY OLD. What am I doing for my birthday? Not much on this specific weekend. I'm making my own dinner (probably a delicious steak with sauce that I'll share on IG). Maybe some Scotch?! My wife also had a birthday recently and so to celebrate we planned a bike trip up the Maine coast in the summer. Looking very forward to that, but for now, just relaxing and cooking this weekend! Happy Weekend! Let's Cook! Ultimate Green Taco Sauce This green taco sauce is similar to a traditional salsa verde, but a little on the thinner and smoother side with no tomatillos blended in. It's just roasted peppers and citrus so it packs a serious zip and is great on all things Tex-Mex! Sun-Dried Tomato Tapenade Grilled Cheese This is an amazing grilled cheese sandwich. All the flavor comes from a quick homemade tapenade of blended sun-dried tomatoes, olives, and garlic. I like to double the tapenade recipe as it's a great condiment to have in the fridge and stores really well. Chicken Piccata Penne A classic recipe of mine on the Simply Recipes site that's always good for a quick dinner or a Sunday supper. Shallow-fried chicken with a bright lemony sauce served with penne pasta. Kids love this dish so much! Happy weekend everybody! __________________________________________________________
