View this email in your browser
Happy Tuesday!

This week's newsletter feature is
how to build an egg incubator for hatching med-free chicks. With Easter weeks away, this is a fun and inexpensive DIY that you can do even if you don't have a rooster!

Have you ever wondered which kind of fish oil is best? If so,
this comparison of krill oil, cod liver oil and plain fish oil can help sort through the dizzying array of choices.

The food feature for this week is
traditional-style Sloppy Joe, a hearty, kid-pleasing dish that can be served with or without a bun.

My new Plus column examines the growing trend of medical kidnap and what to do if you need to go to the hospital to avoid this scenario from unfolding unexpectedly.

I hope you have a great rest of the week!

Warm regards,

Ask the Senate to Protect Children with Food Allergies

The Protecting Children with Food Allergies Act would require training for school food staff to prevent, identify, and respond to food-related allergic reactions. AAFA is proud to have worked with Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) as they drafted this important bill. We now need your help to make this bill a law. Use the widget on our blog to contact your senator.

The Asthma and Oral Health Connection

Many asthma control inhalers have medicines called corticosteroids ("steroids"). When the medicine stays in your mouth, it may cause problems with your teeth, gums, tongue, and cheeks. It's important to rinse and spit after using a steroid inhaler to prevent dry mouth, thrush, and cavities. Learn more asthma medicine tips.

Families Managing Asthma in Four U.S. Cities Receive Products to Help Make Their Homes Healthier

To support AAFA's HEAL Innovation program, Pegasus Home Fashions, Rabbit Air, and Renegade Brands have generously donated their CERTIFIED asthma & allergy friendly® products. The overall goal of AAFA's HEAL Innovation program is to reduce asthma deaths and illness among high-risk populations. The donated CERTIFIED products will be given to program participants with asthma to help make their homes healthier. AAFA thanks these companies for the impact they are making in the lives of families living with asthma.
