What are Macros?

Macros, or macronutrients, are the amount (in grams) of Fat, Protein, and Carbs that we consume every day.
As you have learned, in order to stay in Ketosis, it is important to reduce the intake of Carbs and to compensate for that decrease with a higher intake of fat.
This is why the Keto diet is a low-carb high-fat diet.

In Keto, it is typically recommended that about 5% of your daily calories come from carbs, with about 15-20% coming from proteins and the remaining 75-80% coming from fat.

Knowing exactly what that 5% of carbs amounts to is critical to the success of your keto diet. Factors like your gender, age, current weight, activity levels, and many other come in the picture to give you that ideal number you will need to stick to, so you stay in ketosis.
