Hello April! I'm sorry, I couldn't resist! I always get excited about the fresh start a new month brings, and this one has a special place in my heart. No, it's not my birthday month (that's another story) but I do have a real soft spot for "my month". New Season Inspiration How are things in your neck of the woods? I know some of you still have snow - and indeed as I write this there are snow flurries in the air! Regardless, I have lots of spring inspiration for you. From spring decorating ideas to travel ideas and of course, delicious recipes, there's definitely something for everyone. Do you like to have a wreath on your door to mark the seasons? I love my new spring wreath from Emma at Green Parlour. Emma included some culinary mint, sage and rambling thyme, as well as bulbs and flowers "planted" in the moss backing of the wreath. There are also some pussy willows which are another of my favourites. If you are in the Southern Hemisphere, there are fall recipes and ideas to help you freshen up your home for the new season too! Travel Have you been travelling recently? If you are, I have some easy ideas to you keep on track with your fitness goals while you are away from home. My husband and I are still staying in the UK for the moment, but we are looking forward to some trips abroad in the near future. A few weeks ago we spent some time exploring the beautiful East Anglian city of Ely. I definitely recommend a visit, Recently, we've enjoyed a trip to Cambridge and a very comfortable stay at Chewton Glen in the New Forest, We've certainly been having a lot of fun. We even took a ride in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at Beaulieu Motor Museum! If you are planning to come to London this summer, don't forget to book a visit to Buckingham Palace, where there is a special exhibition to commemorate The Queen's Platinum Jubilee. I've also got some fabulous ideas for places to eat while you are in the capital. I'll be sharing more ideas for visits to London in the near future! An Atmosphere of Growth One way I like to celebrate the fresh start of a new month is to set myself a monthly challenge. It's a great way to test drive new habits without a full commitment to 'forever'! At the end of the month I decide whether I want to incorporate the new behaviour in my life, or whether I would prefer to try something else. Care to join me? This month I'm challenging myself to join Gretchen Rubin and Elizabeth Craft in their Complaint Free Month. Constructive criticism delivered in a positive way is okay, but just complaining isn't. The first few hours have gone pretty well. 😂 I'll report back as the month wears on. |
