The Connection Between Your Home and Your Health

Your home environment can affect your personal health, especially if you have asthma and allergies. June is National Healthy Homes Month. This year's theme is "Connecting Home, Health, and YOU." Even though the month is almost over, you can still learn about having a healthier home. The climate can affect your health too. If you missed it, watch our webinar titled, "Asthma and Climate Change: Myths and Misconceptions" on demand.

[Sponsored] Candis Shares Her Story Living with Chronic Cough

Sponsored by Merck

Did you know that an estimated 12 million adults in the U.S. may be living with chronic cough, a cough lasting longer than eight weeks? This condition can have a physical, social, and emotional impact on people and interfere with their ability to participate in daily activities and social gatherings.

Candis S., who has been living with chronic cough for over a decade and has experienced this firsthand, says, "I've had to adjust my life to accommodate my constant coughing and am careful to not let my cough disrupt other people's lives."

Despite the frustrations of living with chronic cough, she encourages others with the condition to stay optimistic and not allow it to control their life. "It's easy to just stay inside, but you have to keep living life to its fullest," she says.

Read our blog to learn more about Candis' story and for more information about chronic cough. We also encourage you to visit The Cough Chronicles, an educational resource sponsored by Merck in collaboration with AAFA, the American Lung Association, and the Allergy & Asthma Network to support people living with the condition.
